Looking for another way to cook a yam (or sweet potato)? Love spicy food? Love oven fries? Then you’ll probably love these.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 yam
- 1 tbsp grape seed oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp organic ketchup
Pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees. Rinse yam thoroughly and slice it into thin strips or wedges. Put the yam wedges in a glass casserole dish or on a baking sheet and drizzle 1 tbsp grapseed oil on top. Toss yam wedges in the oil until they’re lightly coated.
In a small dish, combine garlic powder, cayenne pepper, chili powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes and salt. Mix with a spoon and lightly dust the mixture over the yam wedges. Toss the yam wedges in the mixture to evenly coat.
Bake for 20 min. Toss them with a spatula and continue to bake for another 10- 15 more minutes (30- 35 min total). Serve with organic ketchup.
