I’ve been drinking more protein smoothies in the morning and thus trying various brands of soy-free plant-based protein powders. So far I have tried Plant Fusion’s Vanilla Bean (good but a little too chalky/stevia-flavored), MediClear Plus (once recommended by my naturopath- super healthy but absolutely no flavor and hard to drink at first but I got used to it), Vega One French Vanilla (similar flavor to Plant Fusion’s but with more vitamins and minerals- I liked it) and now Vega’s protein smoothie in Bodacious Berry– which may be my personal favorite so far.
Vega’s protein smoothie in Bodacious Berry flavor does have a bit of an artificial berry flavor to it but I found a way to mask it and have been enjoying it all week in my morning protein smoothie. Each scoop has 15 grams of protein, so it’s a nice little boost to start my day. No I am not sponsored by or have any affiliation with Vega (I pinky promise). I just like to share products & recipes I enjoy. I will be posting more protein smoothie recipes in the near future so stay tuned (including one that is made of all plant-based ingredients and no powders!)
Here’s the recipe I made for the Vega Berry smoothie powder:
- 1 scoop Vega protein smoothie in Bodacious Berry flavor
- 12 oz cold water
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen organic strawberries
To make:
Simply blend all ingredients and enjoy!
